Hi there, Lois. Welcome to
planDisney. Thanks for dropping by with your
Walt Disney World vacation planning question.
Lois, I know you've got to be getting so excited about your mother's upcoming visit. Taking her to Walt Disney World is just going to be the icing on the cake! Unfortunately, you won't be able to purchase her a Florida Resident ticket to use while she is here. Florida resident tickets are intended only for those Guests who reside in Florida. To use these tickets, you actually have to show
proof of residency at Guest Relations before the tickets are activated for use. The most common ways to show proof of residency are a valid Florida driver’s license (must have a Florida address), a valid Florida state-issued ID card (must have a Florida address) or a valid Florida-based military ID.
Instead, you'll need to purchase your mom either a
standard base ticket or you can upgrade the tickets to include the
park hopper option. I did take a look at park tickets for dates in November and I am not seeing the price quite as high as you mentioned. A standard theme park ticket for November 17th is around $139.00 + tax. A park hopper for that day does increase the price to just over $200 but with one day, you could consider just doing one theme park instead. Please keep in mind that prices are subject to change at any time without notice. Magic Kingdom Park is so iconic and you could easily spend the whole day there so that would be my suggestion.
I'm sorry I don't have better news for you, Lois. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Enjoy!
Jackie H.
