Hey there, Brent, and welcome to planDisney! As a non-Florida resident, I always have to dig deep when I answer Floridian questions about Annual Passes because I always feel a twinge of FOMO. I have seriously contemplated a move to Central Florida just for the Florida Resident Special Offers and Annual Pass options. Perhaps one day my Central Florida resident dreams will come true!
I spoke with a Cast Member who confirmed that although you do have the ability to park hop after 2:00 pm, you cannot park hop to
Magic Kingdom Park or
Disney’s Hollywood Studios when they are
blocked out on your Theme Park Select Anual Pass. When Annual Passes contain blockout dates for certain Theme Parks, Guests are unable to visit those parks in any form on those specific days.
Fortunately Brent, there is plenty to keep you busy in
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park and
EPCOT for an entire weekend. And I’m not just saying that because Animal Kingdom is my favorite Theme Park. So here are my must-do’s in Animal Kingdom with a fair warning that they mostly revolve around food! First up is
Yak & Yeti Restaurant. My family makes a stop here for lunch during every one of our Disney vacations. We love the atmosphere, and the food is absolutely incredible. And of course,
Avatar Flight of Passage is definitely the star of the Theme Park. It’s one of the few reasons I’m okay with being up before 7:00 a.m. on vacation to grab an
Individual Lightning Lane Entrance.
Pandora - The World of Avatar is also beautiful in her nighttime glory - although it’s harder to catch as the days grow longer. But since you will be able to park hop, this may be the perfect time to enjoy Animal Kingdom after dark!
And as a self-proclaimed Disney foodie, of course, I make time to snack around the World whenever we spend a day in
EPCOT! But I never miss the chance to catch Harmonious. I’ve found the best place to view it (sans a reservation for a fireworks dessert party) is by standing by the gate in front of
Frozen Ever After! You’ll be able to look over the water and have an amazing view of the projections.
I hope this helps, Brent. Your Walt Disney World vacation is calling!
Until Next Time,
PG
