My family will be leaving in 27 days for our Disney vacation! We want to get something special made for all 4 of us as a memento of this trip. We are thinking like some sort of custom jewelry. Do y'all have any idea where we can do this? Thank you!!

    Shannon:

When our family of 19 went to Disney for a family reunion, all the gals in the group thought it was tremendous fun to visit the Japan Pavilion at Epcot and check out the "Pick-a-Pearl" location in the Mitsukoshi Department Store. From choosing your own oyster to watching the storekeepers skillfully open the oysters provided lots of oohs, aahs and outright laughs. Every time they beat the small drum with their pronouncements of the pearl sizes, we all felt special. Some of us chose to have our pearls mounted in a setting for a necklace. One bought two pearls and made earrings. There were many options from which to choose, and the jewelry was made in the store before our eyes.

If you have men in your group, probably one of the leather shops at Downtown Disney near Ghirardelli that makes belts, bracelets and the like might be more appropriate, but if you've got all girls, I can't recommend the experience at Pick-a-Pearl in the Japan Pavilion more highly.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
