Hello! When our family last visited WDW in 2019, we had the option to decline housekeeping in our resort room and was given a gift card. We are headed back soon and I'm trying to find out if this is still a thing or no longer and option. Thanks!

Hi Nathan! Welcome to planDisney. I'm delighted to hear you're planning a return visit to the Walt Disney World Resort.

The Service Your Way program, which allowed Guests at select resort hotels to opt-out of Mouskeeping services for their stay in exchange for a Disney Gift Card, was discontinued when Walt Disney World Resort closed in 2020. It has not been reinstated as part of the phased reopening. All Guest rooms receive a thorough cleaning between Guests, and then light housekeeping will occur every other day during your stay. Light housekeeping includes trash removal, towel and amenity replacement, wiping and cleaning of the vanity and counter surfaces, and vacuuming as needed. On our visit this summer, I spilled a cup of tea on the bed, and Mousekeeping sent new sheets and bedding for me to change myself; you may call them from your room phone should you need anything. I would keep an eye on the Disney Resort Hotels: Know Before You Go webpage to see if anything changes before your visit, and you're welcome to ask about the program at the Front Desk when you arrive.

Nathan, I see you're planning a January 2022 visit, and you're arriving just in time to enjoy the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This is such a fun celebration of the visual, performing, and culinary arts, with themed snacks and experiences throughout EPCOT. Be sure to read the Disney Parks Blog for news about the festival and other January happenings as you count down the days.

Thanks for stopping by with your question, and please come back and see us if you think of anything else. It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Guest plan a vacation that is practically perfect in every way!

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
