    Hi Angela,

Thanks for a great question.  You are not the only one to feel overwhelmed by planning your first Walt Disney World vacation in awhile.  Many families share those same feelings. That's why the Moms Panel exists.  We'd be happy to help every step along the way as you plan.  I promise that this will be fun!

Since half of your children are either tweens or teens, I'm going to suggest you visit Walt Disney World when school is not in session.  (You can tell I'm a high school teacher, can't you?)  My favorite time of year to visit is March.  The temperatures are mild and the Epcot Flower & Garden Festival is in full swing.  There is no more beautiful time to visit.  Look at your school calender to see when your kids' spring break occurs.  Consider traveling then.

If spring break doesn't appeal to your family, consider early summer.  My sister's family loves to travel in May or June.  Swimming is always at the top of their agenda so the summer months work out brilliantly for them.

Sit down with your family and determine your travel dates.  Once you've got those set it is time to book rooms at a Disney resort.  I highly encourage you to consider one family suite and one standard room at either Disney's Art of Animation Resort (opens early summer)  or Disney's All Star Music Resort.  This combination of rooms would be a perfect fit for your party of ten.

Send me another question if you need any advice regarding dining plans, theme park passes, or anything else regarding your upcoming Disney vacation.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
