My family w/ 2 kids are staying at Port Orleans and for our 1st night i thought it would be fun to go to Chef Mickeys but now i am wondering if it would be better to take the boat to Downtown Disney and go to TRex instead since it's easier to get to?

Hello Tish!  So happy you've stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel to ask your question.  You've picked out two really fun places to eat, it is such a hard choice.

To ease your mind on eating at Chef Mickey's, it really isn't that difficult to get there from your resort.  All you would need to do is hop on the bus headed to Magic Kingdom.  Once you get there, it is just a very short walk to Disney's Contemporary Resort.  You could even get on the monorail at Magic Kingdom and ride it to Disney's Contemporary Resort which is the first stop.  My daughter loves riding on the monorail, it is like a ride in itself!  Walking would propbably be quicker but the monorail is a lot of fun.  To get back to your resort, you'd either walk back to the bus stop at Magic Kingdom or ride the monorail all the way around back to Magic Kingdom and then hop on the bus.  So if eating at Chef Mickey's is really what you wanted to do, I say go for it!

I hope you have a wonderful time and whichever place you do decide to eat at, I know you will have a great time!  If you have any other questions, please feel free to come back here and ask.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
