My family – kids 5 and 2 – is planning a trip. We can only go end of Jan., March 9, and May 27. Jan. is the best price (& free dining) but is it too cold for small children? What would you do? We usually go Nov. but want to go without holiday decorat

    Hi Tanya!

January can be a great time to go, but as in Texas you don't ever know if an errant cold front will be able to push itself down into central Florida.  That being said, average high temperatures in January are in the low 70s, and average lows are in the low upper 40s to low 50s.  There have been record lows in the 20s recorded in the month of January as well!  Brrrr!!!  The bonus to coming in January??  LOW crowd levels, and (historically) LOW precipitation levels.

I'd go for it.  Watch the weather and pack accordingly.  If temperatures hit their averages, then it will be LOVELY park touring weather!  If there happens to be a cold snap forecasted during your vacation, make sure to pack hats and gloves for the little ones along with their coats.  The good thing about Florida weather is that it doesn't usually stay cold for long!

    Have a magical vacation!
