Hello, We are a family of 4 (our kids are 4&11) planning our first WD trip . We would like to stay at a moderate or deluxe resort. If we were to compare which moderate resort and deluxe resort will you recommend.

    Hi Ana!

     Decisions, decisions!

If I were choosing a moderate resort to stay at, the Coronado Springs is my recent favorite, especially if you request a recently refurbished room. This is the only moderate resort to offer queen size beds, and although the bathrooms only offer one sink instead of doubles, it's a trade off I can live with.

For deluxe resorts, the choice is even more difficult. I love the convenience of monorail resorts. The Contemporary and Polynesian are top family picks. However, I would also like to suggest the Wilderness Lodge which is beautiful and offers a boat launch to the Magic Kingdom, and also The Yacht & Beach Club Resort, because of the proximity to Epcot, Hollywood studios, and the Boardwalk, the therefor the immense dining options available nearby. Don't forget the huge pool area at the Yacht and Beach Club resorts: Stormalong Bay.

Have I made it more difficult to choose? Well, consider a few things: budget, proximity, and means of travel. Coronado Springs and Wilderness Lodge are well priced for the great amenities if you are on a tighter budget, or just prefer to spend your vacation money on experiences rather than accommodations. Wilderness Lodge, being so close an accessible to Magic Kingdom, also makes it easy to transfer onto the monorail if you want to hop over to Epcot.

Hopefully your head isn't spinning from all the options! You'll know best what your family will like to take advantage of on their vacation, but if you need anymore help, come back to the Moms Panel!

Hope you enjoy planning and that you have a magical vacation!
