My family of 5 (3 kids, 7,4,2) will be heading to Coronado Springs in October. We booked a preferred room. How close are these rooms to El Centro and to the Dig site?

    Hi Megan,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is a great choice for kids; mine could stay in the pool for days and love the Dig Site playground.

Preferred rooms are located in the Casitas section of the resort, which are a short walk to El Centro and an even shorter walk to the Pepper Market food court. We just stayed there in the Casitas section, and my early morning coffee run to Pepper Market was an unexpected delight; I would often stop to take in the beauty of the sunrise over Lago Dorado and enjoy a peaceful moment before the excitement of the day ahead.

Your walk to the Lost City of Cibola Pool and the Dig Site area will be a little longer; with little legs, I would estimate a ten-minute walk or less. It’s a lovely walk, right past El Centro and across Lago Dorado on a pretty bridge (my kids loved crossing that bridge!). There is another pool located in the Casitas section, but be advised that it doesn’t have much of a shallow section so may not work for your smaller children.

Megan, I hope that’s helpful. My extra tip for Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort is that Pepper Market’s nachos are seriously delicious…and a bonus is that you can grab a margarita to go with them at lunch and dinner!

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
