family of 4 kids ages 6 and 4 staying at AKL with ddp march 24-27th. Spending most time in magic kingdom/AKL..need help with dining plan. if you don't have reservation can you still eat under plan? I don't want to be paying more than the $5000 already..

Hi Ryan!  So glad to hear you will be using the Disney Dining Plan on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

To answer your question, Yes.  You can still use your Disney Dining Plan to pay for meals, even if you have not made an advanced reservation.  Many of the Disney table service restaurants have walk-up availability and your server will ask if you are using a Dining Plan prior to taking your order.

Although you may be able to find walk up availability at many of the restaurants, I highly recommend booking as many advanced dining reservations as possible as many of the more popular locations book up quickly.  This will help ensure you are able to eat at the restaurant of your choice at the time you choose, rather than having to wait to be seated.

You can visit Disney Dining online, to browse the available restaurants!  Booking a reservation is easy and can be done ONLINE or by calling Disney Dining at (407)WDW-DINE up to 180 days in advance!

Here's wishing you a magical (and tasty) visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!  If you need additional information, please feel free to write back with a follow up question!

    Wishes,

    Amanda F.
