We are a family of 8 (kids ages 17-2)-are there rooms that can accommodate that many? We are trying to choose between California and Florida (closer to CA now but are afraid CA won't be as good as our experience in FL. Suggestions? Thanks!

    Hi Tammi!

Choosing which Disney park to vacation at is a win win problem. No matter where you go you will have a magical time and the one you miss this tie can be your next destination in the coming years.

Walt Disney World is definitely the larger of the two destinations as there are four parks versus the two at Disneyland. If you head to Florida you would likely want to spend at least five days and better to have seven days for your vacation. Your transportation might also be more expensive to get there so it is something to consider in the budget. Both destinations will offer an abundance of great experiences as well as attractions and entertainment. Each park has their own aura and feel and differences.

Lodging will be similar at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Generally rooms are equipped for four or five guests. A larger family can book two rooms and request that they connect where they have an interior door open to each room. The other option is to reserve a two bedroom suite which can handle up to 8 guests. This is pretty standard for all Disney resorts at both locations. The suites will cost more but they will also offer kitchen facilities and living areas to congregate in when little ones need naps.

Disneyland has many great good neighbor hotels that can be more affordable and still close to the parks. I try to stay in a Disney property when possible to have the added magic but sometimes budget requires those plans to change.
