For a family of 6 (kids ages 1, 3, 6 and 8), would you recommend a room at the Grand Floridian (with all of its amenities) or a 1 BR Villa at Bay Lake Tower, which is a significant walking distance from the amenities (restaurants, etc.) at the Contemporary

    Jill:

If I had the choice, I'd go with Bay Lake Tower.

Unless you want to stay--and pay--for Concierge service, your room at the Grand Floridian will be in one of the buildings away from its Main Building and its closest out-building, Sugar Loaf Key.  The distance will most likely be the same to the monorail as the tower's and, if you choose to cross BLT's parking lot, the walk to the bus stop at the Contemporary from the villas may even be shorter.

Bay Lake Tower also offers the full kitchen and newer amenities, plus gorgeous views of Bay Lake and the Magic Kingdom.  And I don't have to tell a fellow mom of four about the value of being able to close the bedroom door when you've got youngsters!  The pool's slide will also be a favorite of the kiddos (and is much better than the Grand Floridian's).

If you'd like some other opinions of BLT, visit Diane L.'s and Anna's bio pages and ask them their opinions.  They've both enjoyed vacations there recently!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Whitney, Mississippi

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
