Hey there, hi there, Katie!
You've come to the right place; we love
runDisney events here at planDisney! In just a few weeks, several of my panelist pals and I will slide into our glass slippers and don our tiaras for
Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend.
To prepare for registration day for next year's Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, start by following runDisney and the
Disney Parks Blog on social media. As April approaches, you'll find helpful hints and essential information for finalizing your race plans. Registration for runDisney races usually opens around 10 AM EST. Stay tuned for this year's logistics, but last year, hopeful runners entered a virtual queue upon entering the website just before 10 AM. Placement in the virtual queue was random and not based on when participants opened the website. Your best chance for entry in your preferred race is to be online as soon as general public registration opens on April 9, 2024.
I hope everything works out for you, Katie! Before I sign off and resume training for my runDisney event, here are some quick tips that might help you with registration.
*You can register more than one person at once, so if you're bringing along several family members to the race, have their personal information ready on registration day. You'll need the full name, e-mail address, home address, phone number, age, and t-shirt size of each person registering.
*Prepare for a bit of a wait on registration day once you enter the virtual queue. Last spring, during Disney Princess Marathon Weekend registration, my estimated wait upon signing in was 45 minutes, which was a pretty accurate approximation. I enjoyed a cup of tea in one of my many Disney souvenir mugs and settled in for the journey.
*Set an alarm on registration day, so you stay focused and remember to sign on at 10 AM EST. One year, a planDisney pal overslept and missed registering for her preferred race (a 5K) and ended up signing up for the only race with remaining spots - a half marathon!
Thanks again for stopping by with your runDisney question, Katie, and best wishes for running all the magical Mickey miles!
