my family of 3 (incl. 9yr old boy) will be visiting WDW at the end of June, what could we do to celebrate his birthday and which value resort would be cooler for us, we stayed at the pop century already! he's one for the thrills!

Hi Christine!  I'm sure your son will be so thrilled to celebrate his birthday at the Walt Disney World Resort in June!  Let me start out with some information on some other Value Resorts.  Your 9 year old would probably love the theming at the new Art of Animation Resort.  However, these rooms consist of family suites or standard rooms.  The standard rooms have only rooms themed from The Little Mermaid.  Not sure how your son would feel about that?  The family suites have theming from Finding Nemo, Lion King, and Cars.  Take a look at Disney's Art of Animation Resort to see if any of the above options might work for you.  I can just imagine your son splashing around in the Cars themed Cozy Cone Pool!   You might prefer to consider Disney's All-Star Movies Resort with Disney movie themed buildings.

There are lots of ways to make your son's birthday special at Walt Disney World.  You might decide to customize his birthday celebration in an extra special way.  From birthday gifts delivered to your room, to cakes and more, there is so much to choose from.   A great adventure for you would be the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage!  A pirate captains this entertaining voyage and you'll get prime viewing for the Magic Kingdom Fireworks display.  Your son will even get special recognition for his birthday.

Feel free to come back here if we can help you again.

Until then, I wish you a MAGICAL vacation!
