Hi. I have a family of 5. I'm aware of the rider switch program. Can I look up the # of riders per ride anywhere? As in, can we fit 3 of us in 1 seat of a ride, or just 2. I would also wonder how I can tell which rides offer rider switch program.

Howdy, John and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’m so excited to hEAR that you will soon be traveling to Walt Disney World Resort with your party of 5!

Growing up my parents always took my younger sisters and I to the parks. We too were a family of 5! You’ll be happy to know, there are some rides you can squeeze 3 to a seat! It just depends on what you are comfortable with, and making sure that the three of you do fit safely! I find it easier to seat 3 to a seat when it’s one adult and two kids, but we’ve also fit 3 adults on Haunted Mansion this past December.

Just off the top of my head, my family usually sits 3 to a seat on the following attractions; Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Peter Pan’s Flight, The Seas with Nemo & Friends, and Under the Sea~Journey of The Little Mermaid. There are also many attractions that my family prefers to only sit two to a seat because of the interaction involved, or because the seat only allows two. Some of those attractions include; Toy Story Mania!, Slinky Dog Dash, Seven Dwafs Mine Train, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin.

I recommend checking out all the available attractions before you arrive, and selecting the ones you and your family are most interested in! (Tip: When my son was finally tall enough to ride more attractions, we showed him videos of the rides he could now enjoy, and told him who he would be riding with). This gave him the confidence to ride with just one parent if needed, and he knew what to expect before we got there.

Rider Switch is such a handy feature when it comes to little ones! There are attractions in each of the 4 parks that offer Rider Switch, so be sure to use this feature when needed! (Tip: When we want to enjoy an attraction that my daughter is too small for, we usually have the parent waiting with her find a Character Experience close by that she can enjoy while everyone else rides). I’m sure you will have a Magical time since there is plenty for your family of 5 to enjoy together!

I can’t wait for your upcoming visit, get ready for the Wildest Ride in the Wilderness!
