Hi Emilysue!
Thanks for sailing to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question!
Sailing to Alaska aboard Disney Cruise Line is one of my favorite itineraries. My family has had the opportunity to visit twice and we can't wait to get back there again.
You're going to love visiting each port of call throughout your Alaskan voyage. The ship docks a short distance away from the heart of each town, so exploring each port of call is so convenient and fun! You asked such a tough question. In my opinion, I would recommend doing a
Port Adventure in Ketchikan rather than seeing the town on your own. It's beautiful, but we felt we would have experienced more during a guided Port Adventure in Ketchikan. I also wanted to mention that depending on which Port Adventure you choose, you might have the opportunity to explore the towns before or after your excursions; choosing an excursion in Ketchikan doesn't necessarily mean you'll miss exploring the port of call on your own!
Are you planning on bringing a stroller for your little adventurer? I highly recommend it! Wheeling our son around Alaska in his wheelchair was so easy! Last summer he enjoyed seeing all the beautiful sights while staying warm and cozy in his chair. The corridors and common areas onboard the ship are spacious enough that strollers and wheelchairs fit with ease.
If you have any future questions, please come back and visit us again! We want to help you navigate through planning your trip to "The Last Frontier" in any way we can!
