Hi Kylie,
Welcome to planDisney!
You are correct in noting that the
Disability Access Service (DAS) has changed. Having used this service in the past for my family, I understand how valuable it is. While we cannot verify your eligibility, we can share current information. Please also know that, with the new changes to DAS, eligibility should be determined in the pre-arrival video chat process or using the video chat process on-site. Please note that, given your arrival dates, in-person registration will not be available at Guest Relations. Also take a look at the comprehensive list of
Services for Guests with Disabilities.
Since your trip is more than a year away, I would encourage you to continue planning. Of course, keep an eye on updates to the website and planDisney as we get more information during the implementation process. My family continues to visit Disney because we have been so supported by all of the services for guests with disabilities. If you have not already started using these, I also suggest the theme park
Guide Maps that provide accessibility information.
I do have a few final tips - if you have not previously used the
advanced dining reservation system or
Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering, I strongly suggest both. We use these to strategically reduce the amount of time we spend in lines. When using Mobile Food & Beverage Ordering, remember to check the available pick-up times before the time you actually want to eat.
Kylie, I know this may not give all of the details you need for your upcoming trip. Trust that we are watching the implementation process and over the next few months there may be additional details that will give more guidance.
Magic and memories,
Donyell
