Hello Janine,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! October is a fantastic month to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! The Parks are decked out in their Fall finest, and two of my favorite seasonal activities take place during the month;
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party in Magic Kingdom Park and
Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. You're going to have a wonderful time!
In order to attend Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, you will need to purchase separately priced tickets for everyone in your party. Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade takes place during the Party, and it's one of my family's favorite Parades. The Headless Horseman starts off the festivities, and the floats, costumes, and music are amazing! (my own personal favorite part of the Parade is the Grave Diggers) Happy HalloWishes fireworks display is "spook"tacular and, of course, you have the choice of collecting plenty of candy as you make your way through each section of the Park.
For the best view of the Parade, I suggest grabbing a spot under the covered elevated wooden platform in front of the Country Bear Jamboree attraction in Frontierland. This location will give you a direct view of the Parade and will keep you close to food and undercover in case it rains. I also recommend arriving in Frontierland about thirty (30) to forty-five (45) minutes before the Parade is scheduled to start to secure your spot in that area.
I hope this information helps. Please stop back by if you have any additional vacation planning questions!
Magical Wishes,
Susan
