Hiya, Friend! Welcome to planDisney!
Fall is a great time of year to visit
The Most Magical Place on Earth! There are so many great offerings around the resort. EPCOT hosts my favorite festival of the year, the
EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival. And
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is held on select nights at Magic Kingdom from August through Halloween. There’s lots to love about traveling at this time of year!
To answer your question, the Walt Disney World Resort website doesn’t currently offer a calendar that shows resort pricing across multiple dates for
Disney Resorts Collection hotels in the same way that you’ll see for
theme park tickets. Having said that, resort hotel prices tend to mirror theme park tickets in terms of pricing. When theme park tickets are less expensive, generally speaking, resort hotel prices will also be less expensive. Now, there are exceptions to this of course, and prices are always subject to change, but this is definitely a good starting point when you’re researching the best time to visit for you and your family.
In my experience, August is a great time to visit. It’s definitely hot and humid in the parks, but school is back in session almost everywhere, so crowds tend to be on the lighter side throughout the month. The beginning of September follows this trend as well. I have found some of the best deals on Disney Resorts Collection hotels at this time of year. As the season progresses and Halloween approaches, crowds start to build, and prices tend to increase as well. All of this is based on my experience and is always subject to change, but I’ve found these trends to be fairly consistent year over year. Like I said, it’s one of my favorite times of year to visit!
Here are a couple of things to keep in mind. If you intend on visiting Magic Kingdom Park, make sure to check the calendar to see which dates Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party takes place. The park closes to day Guests at 6 PM on party nights. If you want to attend a party, you can really stretch out your park day! If not, the
Park Hopper Option on your tickets may be worth considering. That way, you can hop to another park in the evening!
I hope this answers your question! If you have any other questions as you continue to plan your visit, please don’t hesitate to come back and see us here at

Happy planning!
