My family just got home from WDW last week and we are already planning our next trip! Do you know when rates and reservations will be available for next year? We would like to go early, FEB? Will have an infant and want to avoid heat. Thanks!

It sounds like your family has the WDW travel bug. It is tradition that when our family departs Walt Disney World that my son and my husband both say "start planning the next trip"! I'm only too happy to fulfill their wish!

Reservations are available approximately 499 days in advance for all room only reservations. You will put down a deposit according to the 2008 rate which will be equal to one night's rate plus tax. 2009 rates are often released in August. I know because we travel often to WDW in January (no guarantee though.) Once the 2009 rates are out, your reservation will reflect the change and your total owed (minus your deposit) will be corrected.

If you were to book a room only reservation now, you can always cancel that reservation if you later decide on a 2009 vacation package.
