Hi Nadine, welcome to planDisney!
Get ready to be the star of your vacation at Disney's Hollywood Studios this September. From joining the Resistance on
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to entering Andy's room for
Toy Story Mania!, you'll get to step into your favorite Disney stories while experiencing your own, you-nique adventures.
Walking the red carpet certainly makes you hungry, and you've asked a thoughtful question about ordering options for a
quick service lunch during your park day. There are currently 11 quick service dining options at Disney's Hollywood Studios that offer
mobile food and beverage ordering. Each of these locations also has a traditional line option, though I'd love to tell you why mobile food and beverage ordering is one of my family's top tricks for maximizing our park time.
Using your
My Disney Experience mobile app, you can place a mobile food and beverage order at your convenience. My family likes to place our lunch order in the morning when we're waiting in line for an attraction ("+" sign at the bottom of the app's home page --> Order Food). Even on less busy park days, peak lunch times bring crowds to eating destinations, and placing a mobile food and beverage order in advance lets me lock in our 12:00 p.m. arrival window so no one gets hangry. If our plans change, it's easy to cancel the order or modify our arrival time.
I most recently placed a mobile food and beverage order at Disney's Hollywood Studios for
ABC Commissary. This restaurant boasts an air-conditioned seating area, which makes it a great place for a midday break. At the entrance to the restaurant, I noted there was a Cast Member letting people into the seating area if their mobile food and beverage order was ready. Several Guests asked about a walk-up line. The Cast Member said one was available, but encouraged these Guests to place a mobile food and beverage order because it "would be faster." He even helped several Guests place their mobile orders.
If you're comfortable with the technology, Nadine, I encourage you to save some precious park time by placing a mobile food and beverage order for lunch at Disney's Hollywood Studios. My top two recommendations for delicious burgers are
Rosie's All-American Café and
Backlot Express. Save room for a lunch box tart from
Woody's Lunch Box, which is also available via mobile order.
I promise you won't go hungry at Disney, Nadine. Whether you end up placing a mobile food and beverage order or sticking it out in line, I hope you enjoy a meal that keeps you fueled for fireworks.
Fantasmic! is a must-do experience.
Plan magic; planDisney.
