My family is heading to WDW 9/12. Is it appropriate for my children to wear their swimsuits under their clothing at MK or to pack swimsuits for a locker? How wet can I expect them to get on rides? Is a swimsuit really needed for most of the parks?

    Hi Robin,
My son has been visiting WDW since he was 2 years old and he loves the water. The only time that I've ever packed a swimsuit for him is when he wanted to ride Kali River Rapids in the colder season of November, December and January.

If it was chilly outside (sweatshirt weather), my husand and son would change in to swimsuits and brave the rapids. Afterwards, they change in to warm, dry clothes.

This past June, however, in the humid and hot weather, they both rode the rapids in their regular clothes and...quickly dried in the sun.

There are some fountains that kids can play in at the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. If you think these will be irresistible for your kids, then I would bring a swimsuit. The toddler set seem to be the kids that love to get drenched in these areas.
