My family is headed to Disney FL in just over 6 weeks. We like all food types, what are some cant miss resturants. We are staying at Wilderness Lodge and have a 5 & 7 year old.

In my opinion, dining in the Walt Disney World restaurants (both themed and not) is half the fun.  Let me recommend some of our favorites for you!

Since you'll be staying at the Wilderness Lodge, you simply must visit the Whispering Canyon Cafe.  The tasty food there is only part of the experience, so be sure your kids go in prepared for a rowdy good time.

During our most recent trip we also discovered Teppan Edo in the Japan pavilion at Epcot.  The food was very good, but more importantly, the atmosphere was great.  We were seated with another family and we had a great time hearing more about them and their vacation.  Teppan Edo serves in the typical hibachi restaurant style, but the surroundings make it so much more unique than eating at your local favorite.

My kids just love the 50s Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios.  Menu items are traditional comfort foods and meals are served by long lost cousins who have no problem helping you to mind your manners.  Viewing the dessert menu on the Viewmaster toy at the close of the meal is always a hit too!

The Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue is far more than a meal.  It's a dinner show that relies heavily on audience participation.  I can almost guarantee your family will have a rootin' tootin' good time dining on the all-you-care-to-eat fried chicken and mashed potatoes. After our first visit there my kids (who range in age from 2-14) deemed it a must-do every trip!

We also enjoy 'Ohana for both the fun and food.  Kids are kept busy with all kinds of island inspired activities, but everyone has plenty of time to enjoy the family-style skewered meats and side items that are featured there.

Other favorites: Jiko, Liberty Tree Tavern, Le Cellier, and Beaches and Cream.

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
