Our family of 4 is headed to Disney in late September. We arrive around 4pm at the Orlando airport and are staying at the Pop Century. What would you recommend that we do for dinner that evening that won't wear the kids out (4 & 6)- a good intro to W

    Hi Claire,

Great question! My kids are 7 & 9 and we have traveled each year since they were babies. I understand the need for a calm arrival day. I assume you won't be headed into a theme park on the first evening, correct? You might hear others suggest Downtown Disney but I would not recommend it if looking for an easy evening. Waiting for the Downtown Disney buses can be tiresome and there's quite a bit of walking. I think you should head to Magic Kingdom (only a 20 minute bus ride) and then immediately take the monorail (located near the bus stop) to any one of the 3 Magic Kingdom resort hotels. You can dine with characters at Chef Mickey's in Disney's Contemporary Resort or 1900 Park Fare in Disney's Grand Floridian. 'Ohana in Disney's Polynesian Resort offers a relaxed Hawaiian atmosphere with live entertainment for kids and adults. We love these dining locations.

These suggestions will make the travel very easy. You'll only have a bus ride to the front of Magic Kingdom and a quick walk to the monorail to get to the resorts. (the Contemporary is so close to the front of Magic Kingdom some people just walk - but the kids will want to ride the monorail!) Simply reverse the trip to get back home and you'll have a perfectly magical evening.

Just be sure to book these reservations as early as 180-days in advance. They are popular locations and WILL book up quickly. You can do so online or by calling 407-939-3463.

    Best wishes,
