My family and I will be having a grand gathering, November 09. We will be visiting during the week of Thanksgiving. Where would a good place be to have Thanksging dinner? The youngest is 6 yrs old. We are open to any ideas.

Hi Sally!  Today is the day we have gotten quite a few questions about Thanksgiving dining!  I am excited everyone is starting early to make their plans for their great Walt Disney World vacation!

Thanksgiving day is no different in the parks at Disney. Restaurants run as usual and so it is sometimes difficult to find a place to eat when you want that traditional fare of turkey and stuffing!  Our family has chosen this vacation week many times and it changes from year to year who is going to serve that kind of meal.  In the past we have eaten at Artists Point in the Wilderness Lodge and also Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club resort.  My best advice is to not have your heart set on any one particular restaurant but when you call to make your dining reservations (407-939-3463) ask the cast member which ones have stated they will serve the traditional feast.  Choose from that list and go from there.  I have never been disappointed and have always found at least a few choices for that day.

One restaurant that I think might just be perfect is the Liberty Tree Tavern.  It serves a nightly family style feast that includes turkey and stuffing and all the trimmings as well as pork and flank steak.  It is a fun place for all ages and although it is no longer a character dining experience the ambience and food are excellent.

If your grand gathering is large enough (20 or more) you can ask them if they can arrange a special dining event that might include the menu of Thanksgiving cuisine. 407-828-3200  These are a few possibilities for you to ponder while planning.

    Enjoy!
