I’m sorry to hEAR that the addition of
Disney Genie is causing you some stress. Let’s see if I can help and having you, like Rapunzel, singing
“at last I see the light” before we’re all done!
First, Alexia, since it seems like you already have your tickets, let’s talk about how to add the paid upgrade, Disney Genie +. If you know that you’d like to purchase this service for every park day, you can call in advance of your visit to pay for Disney Genie+ prior to your trip. Please note that phone lines have been a bit busier than usual lately, so make sure to call at a time when you won’t be rushing out the door.
You can also purchase Disney Genie+ through the My Disney Experience Mobile App on the day of your visit, beginning at 7:00 AM. Alexia, take a few minutes and watch
this video on the Disney Parks Blog.
The purchase of Disney Genie+ gives you Lightning Lane access to over 40 attractions across all four theme parks. In addition, there are two attractions at each park that are NOT included, but available for individual Lightning Lane purchase (also done through the My Disney Experience Mobile App, beginning at 7:00 AM on the day of your visit).

Alexia, to make sure your entire party is able to take advantage of this service together, you’ll want to check the
My Family & Friends section of your account or Mobile App to ensure you see each Mouseketeer in your group. If you’re using the app, click on the three horizontal lines in the bottom right hand corner and scroll down until you see, “My Profile.” This will take you to a new screen where you’ll see “Family & Friends List” at the top right. Here you can view your list AND follow the prompts to “Add a Guest.” For example, when I open my list, I can see my husband and my kids (even though he manages their plans and they don’t have their own accounts). When you select a time for your Lightning Lane, you’ll select the members of your party who will be joining you.
Alexia, I hope this helps as you’re gearing up for your holiday vacation. As you continue to plan, make sure you have the most updated version of the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. I also recommend taking screen shots of your plans as you book Lightning Lanes and
create mobile orders. This way if one of the Disney Villains infiltrates the system and causes havoc, you have your own back-up!
