Our family of 9 will be having Chef Mickey's breakfast on a Saturday @ 10:55. Any suggestions on what to do with the rest of the day since Saturday afternoons at the parks are pretty crowded?

    Hi Sheila,

I love having breakfast at Chef Mickey's on our "day off" during our Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It’s always so much fun and it's a great start to a perfect, relaxing day!

After breakfast, my family likes to enjoy some of the recreational options available throughout Walt Disney World Resort.  My son is a huge fan of the Sea Raycers so renting one is always a must. Personally, I like to take the boat over to Disney’s Wilderness Lodge from Disney's Contemporary Resort.   There, we spend some time on the Sea Raycers (well the boys do, mom likes to lounge with a fun drink) and later we rent a Surrey bike.  One of my favorite things to do is ride the bike over to Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.   It’s a lovely ride along a beautiful nature trail and my son loves heading over to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch for a quick pony ride.   Once done with all the fun, we like to head back to our Disney Resort for an afternoon swim and a nice dinner.

Another family favorite is heading over to the Downtown Disney area.  The grownups enjoy all the shopping and our son has a great time visiting The LEGO store and picking out a yummy treat at Goofy’s Candy Company.  Older kids may enjoy spending some time at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and the whole family may enjoy ending a fun afternoon/evening with La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil.

The options don't stop there, however  There are countless others ways to have fun outside of the theme parks at Walt Disney World Resort.  I hope these ideas can get you started, but if we can help you with anything else, please let us know.

    Happy planning.
