Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Monica! Feeding my family is never a small task on vacation. I’ve brought along picky eaters, foodies, and penny pinchers alike, giving me a wide array of experiences at Walt Disney World Resort!
When we’re watching our wallets (totals add up with hungry kids!), quick service restaurants are the way to go. We bring our own refillable water bottles into the parks in our backpack, but asking for complimentary full cups of filtered ice water at counter service restaurants means we have water to spare without spending our dollars on bottles. I find dining locations like Casey’s Corner, Pecos Bill’s Tall Tale Inn, Liberty Inn, Pizzafari and Flame Tree BBQ offer large portions which my family can split! Sharing a Flatbread and side salad with my husband frees up our tummies for a special snack like a Mickey Ice Cream Bar later. The other tool I use is the
Mobile Order feature found in the
My Disney Experience Mobile App. Not only can I order my family’s food in advance and skip the line, I can also see my whole order and total at a glance, making sure we have enough food for everyone while saving time and staying on budget! When our family grabs breakfast at our Resort hotel, we think small. A yogurt and a coffee is plenty for my morning tummy, while my husband chooses a filling breakfast sandwich over a more expensive platter. My kids split a kid’s meal and by adding an extra yogurt, we keep our totals low.
I’d love to help recommend other free magical activities or ways your family can pack in more fun. Please feel free to ask another question, and I’ll see ya’ real soon! ~ Lindsey P.
