My family (2 girls 7, 4) and I are planning our first trip to Disney World and don't knowwhat parks to visit on which days. We are staying 1/23-1/28, & do not have PH. touringplans.com says EP is good on Sat 1/23, do I start our 1st trip at EP or MK

    Hi Kelly,

i love the team that puts together the "Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" and the touringplans.com website.  There is a lot of math and years of research to back up their recommendations.  When crowds are at their peak in Walt Disney World, their recommendations can help a lot!

However, the end of January is not a particularly busy time of the year for Walt Disney World.  I think you will be fine with visiting the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and visiting Epcot on Sunday.  As the crown jewel of the Magic Kingdom, a lot of guests like to start their vacation there.  Personally, I love to spend our first day and the last day of our family trips in the Magic Kingdom.  It's not just that the Magic Kingdom is my favorite park; there's something about going underneath the Train Station and stepping out on to the middle of Main Street to tell me that I've "arrived".  The first and last days of my trips don't always line up with the park recommendations given by touringplans.com; they are, after all, just recommendations!

If it's not a surprise, talk to your girls and see what they would prefer (assuming they've visited Walt Disney World before).  Again, in my opinion the end of January is about average for crowds these days; It's not empty but it's not overly crowded either.

    Have a magical vacation!
