My family -girls 8&13 are going to Disney 12/8-14 for our first visit. My 8yr old wants to get autographs, I think my teen is too old. Is there anything that you can suggest she do while my 8 yr old is getting autographs?

    Hi Damaris,

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you, if you don't mind.  You're never too old to enjoy the fun of getting character autographs at Walt Disney World.  They make for a wonderful keepsake from your vacation.  I have a twelve-year-old who turns thirteen in January.  He still enjoys getting autographs throughout the Disney theme parks and resorts.  As he has gotten older, though, he has included a wider variety of people in his autograph books.  On a recent trip, he had everyone in his travel party sign his book and write down a favorite memory of the trip.  He also includes Cast Members who made his vacation extra special.  Cast Members typically seem so surprised and delighted to be asked to sign his autograph book.

But, if your older daughter no longer has interest in getting autographs, hand her the camera and ask her to capture the moment of her sister getting autographs.  There are hundreds of beautiful and inspiring scenes to photograph at Walt Disney World.  Maybe that would be a fun and productive use of your older daughter's time.  She could compile her favorite photographs into her own keepsake album.

    Thanks for a great question!
