Hi Lisa!

While the monorail is convenient, it just really depends on you. Could the $500 be better spent somewhere else? I personally LOVE the convenience of a monorail resort, but really do appreciate the 'remoteness' of Disney's Wilderness Lodge. It is a beautiful resort, and you can still be close to the action, and not pay as much.

If you do decide to go with Wilderness Lodge versus the Polynesian, make sure you do stop by and check out the resort (to investigate for future trips). It is beautiful as well, and Kona Cafe has amazing coffee and breakfast items (Tonga Toast).
