We are a family of 5 getting ready to visit WDW. Our girls want to make a droid unit and my husband and I would like to help. It says each person can only bring 1 guest with them. That leaves my 10 yr old son on his own. Can he come in with us?

    Hi Jaime!

Thanks for reaching out to the Moms Panel.

The Droid Depot in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Hollywood Studios made my son and I feel like space engineers, designing our favorite BB-series droid! As amazing as making the droid is, the Depot itself is just as awesome! Every detail of the Depot is meticulously designed to feel as if you're truly in Black Spire Outpost’s industrial depot in a galaxy far, far away. :-)

You are always welcome to ask a Cast member if your son can come in with one of the groups, but I can say the depot is a fairly tight space with not a lot of mobility between guests. This is likely why they advise the creator and only 1 additional person. After you check-in, you move to a number where you can choose the droid parts on a conveyor belt, then move over to another area where the droid is pieced together and programmed. These areas are tight, as I had to stand behind my son just so he could create his droid. There's little room to stand next to your child on either side without bumping into another family. There are also Cast Members navigating traffic and moving about, further constricting the already small space.

If this is a possibility, perhaps consider having one of your daughters go in, and have the other daughter's depot appointment to begin 30 or 40 minutes after the first? Once you're finished building your droid, they have a test area you can freely test your droid's functionalities and programming. Perhaps the second daughter could be building her droid, while the first daughter is testing her beautifully created droid out in the test area. This could solve your son having to be alone, while also having the appropriate space as your daughters build their droids.

Just something to consider. Have a fantastic time and May the Force Be With You!
