Bonjour, and Ahoy!
Welcome to planDisney, Gregory! Your summer is looking pretty exciting, with the Disney Dream heading back to Europe for the season. I really hope you enjoy your cruise and everything you get to see as you explore the
British Isles! In my experience, there is nothing much worse than the feeling of a
Disney Cruise Line holiday coming to an end. That said, I think a visit to
Disneyland Paris afterwards might just be the perfect cure!
As a UK Guest with lots of experience getting to Paris, I can tell you we have a
few different options for getting to Disneyland Paris. You can fly, drive via Le Shuttle or a ferry, or take the train. Travelling by train from Southampton will be very doable, but it will involve a few transfers along the way.
1. Once you disembark, you will need to make your way to Southampton Central railway station, which connects to National Rail services. Trains run very regularly, but you will need to pre-book your tickets, with flexible options available. You will travel to Clapham Junction, then change trains for a service terminating at London Waterloo, getting off after one stop at Vauxhall.
2. At Vauxhall station, head down to the London Underground and take the Victoria Line to King's Cross St Pancras. These trains run every five minutes. However, it is always good to be prepared for a disruption on the line!
The total journey time from Southampton to King's Cross St Pancras, including transfers, is roughly two hours.
3. From there, you will head into St Pancras International. This station is HUGE, so give yourself a little time to get your bearings! You will connect here to international rail services, with Eurostar being the only option. Eurostar tickets are booked separately from your National Rail tickets. You will also need to go through passport control, much like at an airport, so I recommend allowing around 90 minutes.
When booking your Eurostar tickets, you will choose St Pancras International to Disneyland Paris. The train will take you through the Eurotunnel. Sorry to disappoint, but you will not spot Ariel or Flounder down there! It is a dark tunnel that takes the high-speed train around 35 minutes to pass through. Every time I travel this way, I am still amazed at what the engineers managed to create!
The Eurostar journey includes one transfer at Lille Europe. This station is also very large, but it is clearly signposted and easy to navigate - and a great spot to grab your first French pastry of the trip!
National Rail tickets should become available in a couple of months, while Eurostar tickets will likely be released in the next few weeks.
2026 is going to be a brilliant time to visit, as we will finally be able to explore the World of Frozen, complete with a state-of-the-art walking and talking Olaf animatronic! The experience I am most excited about, though, is the brand new nighttime spectacular, Disney Cascade of Lights, which will illuminate the waters of Adventure Bay! All of these new experiences will be found at
Disney Adventure World from 29th March 2026.
I hope this helps you plan your journey to Disneyland Paris, Gregory! However you choose to travel, I hope the journey is smooth and that you have the BEST time once you arrive! If you have any further planning questions, please
reach out to me. I'd love to help!
See you on Main Street, Paris!
