Hi Meghan,
The Wild Africa Trek is so much fun and educational. Plus, the food is delicious. The day I spent doing the tour with some of my Disney Parks Moms Panel friends last fall is one of my favorite Walt Disney World days ever. You do need valid park admission to access the trek, which starts near the Kilimanjaro Safari. Admission is not included in the cost.
I recommend that you arrive at Animal Kingdom at least 45 minutes before your trek begins to give yourself time to go through the admission gate and arrive at the staging area.
I hope you have as much fun on the Wild Africa Trek as I did. Please let me know if I can do anything else to help you as you make your plans. Enjoy!
Wilma
