Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Tammi!
One of the things I love most about Walt Disney World Resort is that there are accommodations to suit everyone's taste and budget. If you have family members who are not looking for a rustic camping experience during their vacation, then there are options close by that will make them very happy.
While you are staying at
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, your non-camping family members could book one of
The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. These cabins accommodate six guests and have a wide range of amenities that would likely satisfy folks who don't typically prefer to camp out. And, of course, this option would situate your family just steps away from your campsite.
However, if your non-camping family members are looking for a more traditional hotel experience, fear not!
Disney's Wilderness Lodge is adjacent to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. During the day you and your family could follow the pedestrian walkway (on foot or by rented bicycle) between the resorts. Otherwise, you could take a very brief but delightful boat ride between the resorts. I would allow yourselves 30-45 minutes to travel between the campsites and the lodge. Also, if your family chooses this option, request a campsite that is as close to Bay Lake as possible.
Either way, it will be fairly easy for your two family groups to access each other. Just think of the magical memories that lie ahead for all of you!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Jill
