My family of four will be staying at shades of green next year in April. And we wanted to go check out art of animation resort during one of our rest days. How do we get from shades of green to art of animation resort?

    Hi Matthias,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I know you are going to love April in Walt Disney World!

Because Shades of Green is not a Disney-run resort, the Disney bus transportation buses do not make stops there. This makes getting to Walt Disney World Resort hotels somewhat tricky, but absolutely doable. My most important tip is this: talk to the Front Desk staff at Shades of Green. They are very knowledgeable and will help you figure out the most direct way to get from point A to point B. Things may change between now and your vacation, so be sure to ask when you arrive.

To get to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort from Shades of Green, you need to get to one of the theme parks or Disney Springs first and then catch a resort-bound bus from there. I would walk to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, take the Monorail to Magic Kingdom Park, and then catch a resort bus from the front of the park. If you’re planning to visit Disney Springs during your rest day, you could take the Shades of Green bus there, enjoy a bite to eat and some shopping, and then catch a bus to Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. If you’re willing to pay in order to save time, I would suggest a taxi for a more direct trip to and from the resort.

Matthias, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort is gorgeously themed, and your family will enjoy walking through the larger-than-life movie icons around the Grounds. The Landscape of Flavors food court has a great variety of options, and the Ink and Paint Shop gift shop is such fun to browse. Don’t miss the main lobby, which has a breathtaking display of concept animation from iconic Disney movies.

Wishing you easy travels and a magical vacation,
    Robyn
