My family of four will be staying at the CBR may6th-13th. My 3yrold is afraid of fireworks when they are too close up because of the noise. Where is the best place to see the fireworks at a quiet distance? I hope this makes sense!

    Hi Melissa,

Congratulations on your upcoming trip!  Your question makes total sense, and is actually a common concern for moms of little kids.  Wishes is a spectacular way to end a perfect Disney day.  It is, however, loud and can be overwhelming for some little tots.  There are a number of great options to see the fireworks in a less intense way.  You can see Wishes from the beaches at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian resorts.  If you want to stay inside the park, but in a less loud/intense spot, you should avoid Main Street  and the areas surrounding the Castle Hub.  This area will be the most crowded and definitely loudest.  You can try viewing the show from Frontierland.  There is a store located near the exit of Splash Mountain called Briar Patch that you can "hide" in, if your son gets upset.  Another option that we used when my kids were little, is standing in front of Walt Disney World Rail Road, which is located almost at the exit/entrance of the park.  You'll get a great view of the fireworks, but your backs will be just feet away from the park gates in case you need to make a quick escape.

Finally, the most quiet (and one of the most spectacular) ways to enjoy the show is with a well-timed meal at either Ohana at the Polynesian or California Grille at the Contemporary.  At both of these restaurants the music from the show is piped in, the view is spectacular, and there is no cracking and popping noise that sometimes spooks little guys!

Whatever option works best for your family, I hope you enjoy the show!
