Hi! My family of four (girl 7, boy 2, hubby, I) will be visiting WDW for the first time this January to celebrate my daughters birthday. Any tips, tricks, or advice? We're only staying 3days/2nights. Also very curious about the crowd. Thanks so much

    Hi, Likishia!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm thrilled your family is visiting Walt Disney World Resort for the first time in January! And even better, you have a chance to celebrate a birthday! My daughter is incredibly lucky because most of our visits have lined up to take place during her birthdays. (She can say she's celebrated five out of her ten years of life at Disney World. That's pretty amazing.)

By scheduling a visit in January, you're visiting during a month that often has smaller crowds because it's right after the holiday season. The weather can sometimes be warm but there's also a possibility of some cool days. I usually bring layers with me just in case!

Celebrating birthdays are a lot of fun at Disney World. First, make sure your birthday girl gets a birthday button from a Cast Member. When she wears it, she'll hear so many people say, "Happy birthday, Princess!" My daughter loves that. You can see a long list of celebration ideas from Disney Floral and Gifts. Some of the other ways we've celebrated includes a special dinner at a Table Service Restaurant of her choice, a visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and we've attended a dessert party of two. (Our favorite is the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party.)

I hope these are helpful ideas before your big celebration! Let me know if I can help answer any additional questions before you arrive.
