Our family of four has dietary needs. What food are we allowed to bring into the park?

Hiya, Tyler! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question! Can you believe that your magical adventure at the Disneyland Resort is coming up next week?!

I'm thrilled that you're planning ahead for your trip! After all, it's what we do best here at planDisney! It's a great idea to pack some of your own foods and drinks to make sure everyone's dietary needs are met. Think of it like packing provisions for a Jungle Cruise—you want to be prepared! You're welcome to bring in your own food, but there are a few guidelines to keep in mind. Just like we wouldn't want Cinderella's glass slipper to break, glass containers are not allowed. Also, please avoid bringing in anything that needs to be heated, reheated, refrigerated, processed, or has a pungent odor.

While you're welcome to bring these foods into the parks themselves, another great option for enjoying your own food is in the picnic area conveniently located just outside the main entrance of Disneyland Park. It has plenty of tables and shade, making it the perfect spot to relax and recharge before heading back into the parks. Plus, there are lockers nearby so you can store your picnic basket and free up your hands for more important things—like holding more souvenirs!

Now, let's talk about how Disneyland Resort goes the extra mile for guests with special dietary needs, Tyler. Whether you or your family experiences allergies to peanuts, dairy, or something else, most table-service and many quick-service locations throughout the resort can accommodate. There’s a full list of allergy-friendly requests on this page. Just be sure to let a Cast Member know if you or anyone in your party experiences food allergies when placing your order.

Allergy-friendly foods and beverages can also be ordered in the Disneyland mobile app! This may be a convenient option for your on-the-go family. To view available options and place your order, open the Disneyland app, tap the plus (+) sign at the bottom, and select “Order Food”. Next, tap on a dining location and press the “Begin Order” button. You’ll see an “Allergy-Friendly” button at the top, which will take you to the list of available options. If you don’t see anything that meets your needs, you can always speak with a helpful Cast Member at the dining location who will do their best to accommodate your food allergy requests.

Beyond allergies, our pals at the Disneyland Resort are also happy to accommodate other special dietary requests, such as low-carb, low-sodium, and no-sugar-added options. I follow a plant-based diet myself, so I was thrilled to learn that most dining locations also have dedicated plant-based sections on their menus.

I hope this helps you plan a perfectly delicious day at the Disneyland Resort, Tyler! If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We here at planDisney are always happy to help!
