Ahoy, Jennifer!
One of our most memorable family Port Adventures on the Disney Magic was the
Dolphin Push, Pull and Swim at Dolphinaris in Cozumel. We had a group of eight people who participated in this Port Adventure. My daughters were 7 and 10 at the time, and they had the time of their lives! You don't realize just how large a dolphin is until you are in the water, right next to them. The dolphins were also very playful and interactive.
Even though it rained that morning, our time at Dolphinaris was fantastic. We were in the water, anyway, so what difference did a little rain make? A couple things to note...first of all, they require that you take ALL jewelry off. I did not know this and had my engagement and wedding ring on. I had to lock it up in a locker at the facility, which I was not completely comfortable doing (it turned out to be fine, but made me nervous. I wish I had left the rings locked in my in-room safe on the ship.) Secondly, everyone is required to wear a life jacket, as you are in deep water for part of the time.
Thirdly, personal cameras are not allowed. There is a professional photographer taking pictures throughout your experience. Then, they charge a fee to get a photo package. We felt it was worth it to split between the two families who participated. Had it just been my family, I'm not positive I would have paid the high cost. The photos turned out amazing, however! We have the best picture of my daughter getting a dolphin "kiss"!
We have tried other Port Adventures in Cozumel and none can compare to our time with the dolphins!
I hope this helps with your cruise planning. Please come back and visit the Disney Parks Moms Panel with more questions as they arise.
Happy Cruising, Tracy V.
