We are a family of five (8,5 and 3) and planning to stay at Disney Port Orleans Riverside this September (is the trundle bed comfortable?) is there another moderate hotel that will accomodate all of us.

We've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside with our four (yes FOUR!) children.  It's definitely a tight squeeze, but it's manageable.  As for the comfort of the trundle, I couldn't say; it's designed for a small child.  You'll see when you check in that the trundle is not the same size as a twin bed.  It's slightly smaller, but plenty big enough for a typical five or three year old.  My daughter didn't have any complaints about it during our stay and neither did my then four-year-old nephew who stayed in the connecting room with my parents.

There is another (technically) moderate resort that can accommodate you.  The cabins at Fort Wilderness have recently been classified as moderate accommodations.  The benefit of staying in the cabins is that they have a separate sleeping area and a full kitchen.  You'll notice, however, that the amenities come at a higher nightly rate than those of the other moderate resorts.  The extra space may be worth the price for your family though.  Good luck with your decision!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
