My family and I are going on our fist Disney Cruise 11-24-2017 and my grown Son is taking his 2 kids without the Mom, and I wanted to know if he has to bring an authorization form from the Mom to travel with his kids?

    Ahoy Lisa –

Thanks for stopping by for a visit with us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. CONGRATULATIONS on booking your first Disney Cruise! Your amazing family is in for a delight, and with the special Very Merrytime Cruise on the books, your family is “doing Disney” the right way.

I am pleased to help you with your planning for your son and grandchildren. You son does not need to bring any special authorization as long as he is sailing with his own children. Just make sure that he has the required cruise documentation like a passport or an original birth certificate for boarding. Though I am married, I have cruised with my 2 children (who have a different name from me) without my husband and there was no issue at all.

The only problem your son may encounter is the negligible possibility of having to fly in from a foreign airport and passing through US Customs and Border Patrol (at an international airport). Children who fly with only 1 parent internationally may need a birth certificate as well as a passport in order to re-enter the United States.

Lisa, have fun planning your trip and please remember us for any future vacation questions!
