My family is going on its first WDW vacation in mid April! My question is about luggage. We are checked out of the Polynesian at 11am, but our flight isn't until seven that night. What will happen to our luggage after we are checked out??

    Hi Rita,

There are a few scenarios here for you.  If you are using one of Disney's partner airlines, you must check in at the Resort Airline Check-In Desk located in the lobby of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels up to 12 hours prior to your flight departure time (but no less than three hours prior) during operating hours. A valid government issued photo ID and Key to the World Card (your hotel room key) are required to participate and you will see your bags/luggage when you arrive at your destination airport.  Seeing as you are from New Jersey, you will be able to use this service, (only domestic flights qualify for using this benefit, including Puerto Rico!).  The qualifying airlines that participate with this program are:  Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Airlines, Northwest, AirTran, Continental, JetBlue and United/Ted.  You will also be able to receive your airline boarding pass at this same time and location so you bypass having to check bags and stand in line for your boarding pass at Orlando International Airport ( which is the only airport you can use for this service).   Operating hours for this service are 5:00am to 1:00pm and you are well within this time frame.

On the other hand, in case you not using a participating airline, you will still be able to check and store your luggage at the baggage area location of the Polynesian Resort when you check out.  Before you leave for the airport you will then go to the same location to claim your luggage and off you go.  These services are complimentary for Walt Disney World Resort guests.  No fuss...no worries...Hakuna Matata!!!!

    Best wishes,
