Family of 5, first wdw trip! Narrowed our stay down to either POR standard room or AOA two connecting rooms. Price diff is $1200 (AOA). Is it worth it? Children ages 11, 5, 3.

    Hi Mandi!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

Picking a Disney resort hotel is never an easy decision!  Port Orleans Riverside is my favorite Disney Moderate Resort.  It has a lot of services and amenities, is not too large, has a nice food court, has a great pool with a relatively long water slide, and has great theming.  It also has a boat service to Downtown Disney that is a lot of fun and relaxing, especially at night.

Disney's Art of Animation Resort looks fabulous from the concept art Disney has released, but it is still a Disney Value Resort.  A Disney Moderate Resort offers more services and amenities than a Disney Value Resort.  However, I definitely understand the appeal of staying in a brand new resort.

By the way, since it is your first visit, I highly recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors as it is full of information, but is not overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel of everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
