Hi, my family and I are going on our first Disney cruise in five days (the cruise to nowhere from San Diego). My mom has a cpap machine and we have heard on the Disney Wonder the outlets are far away. It is ok to bring a power surge cord in our carry on?

    Hi Ashley -

So good to see you on the Moms Panel again. Your getaway voyage to nowhere is coming up in a few days and it's exciting to hear that Captain Mickey will have the pleasure of steering the Disney Wonder on your very first Disney Cruise! You will have a great time, and don't be surprised if you end up wanting to go on another Disney Cruise shortly after.

The crew on the Disney Cruise Line always puts safety first. There is a list of items that are not permitted on board, and Disney is pretty strict about adhering to their safety rules. The crew is always on the lookout for fire hazards and other issues that might stem from certain items that are brought on board. Extension cords are considered a hazard, and that's why it's on the list. Since you will potentially need an extension cord for your mom's CPAP machine, you can actually borrow one from Guest Services when you board. You will need to sign it out and include a $50 deposit, and this is refunded once you return the extension cord. So, don't forget to drop if off on disembarkation morning at the guest services desk, so that you don't get charged for it.

Have a great time on your first voyage, Ashley!

    Bon voyage!
