My family and I are going on our first DIsney Cruise on the Disney Dream in September 2011. Should I bring something for seasickness for my 6 year old. Will there be something we can get in First Aid? Cost?

    Hi, Elena!

Congratulations on your cruise this fall on the beautiful Disney Dream -- she is an amazing ship, and you and yours are in for a treat!

As far as motion sickness, I would consult with your child's pediatrician.  I have never had any of my children suffer from this -- but I certainly wouldn't want to have to deal with it on vacation. You will see several guests on board with the prescription, time-released patch located behind their ears, and of course, some will bring an over-the-counter, motion-sickness medication with them. I have also heard that the accupressure bands called PsiBands work really well, and you can find these online. Motion sickness may be treated by the on-board physician and/or nurse who are on call 24 hours a day or at the Health Center which is located on Deck 1. However, you may be charged for their services. Plus, I have been told that motion sickness is better prevented than treated.

I hope this helps you plan. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
