Welcome aboard, Kristina!
It's great to hear that you and your family are going on your very first magical voyage onboard Disney Cruise Line. You are going to be in for such a treat!
Traveling from California is a long haul, but in just a matter of hours, you'll find yourself in warm beach weather. It will be more humid than it is over on our end of the country for sure. You'll still find warm 80+ degree weather in September while in the Bahamas, so it's great outdoor weather. I would suggest that you check the weather stations a week prior, just to make sure there is no isolated rain in the forecast. You'll be departing from Florida, and we've seen the weather there change in a span of several hours. You never know!
You'll still want to pack light and easy outdoor outfits for the Bahamas during this time. Bring a couple of swimsuits for pool and beach enjoyment. But you may want to pack something dressy for the evenings - especially if you plan to go to Remy or Palo for an adult exclusive date night. Traveling from California, I always still bring a hoodie or sweater - since the flights will usually be in the morning heading to the East Coast. I'll usually pick a later afternoon or evening flight home from MCO and that gets us to California late in the evenings with the much cooler temperatures. Here are some additional tips on
what to wear for cruise casual and optional formal evenings.
Bring bright colored clothing for some awesome pictures, Kristina! There will be lots of photo opportunities with characters too. And don't forget your Pirate gear :-).
Happy Planning!
