My family is going on our very first cruise to the Bahamas on the DCL. What is the rule on tipping? Do we tip at each meal time? What about during port adventures/excurions? the tour guide? boat captain (parasailing)? who, when and how much do we tip?

    Awesome news, Terefil!

You and your family will be in for a magical treat on your very first Disney Cruise to the Bahamas. I'm so excited for you!  There will be lots of pixie dusted moments that you will not want to miss.  So, be prepared to have all your senses on hyper drive. :-)

Gratuities on the Disney Cruise are very much appreciated by your onboard cast members for their excellent service.  As you'll see via this link, these are actually simplified for Disney guests.  There is a suggested gratuity amount for the 4 main cast members (Dining Server, Assistant Server, Head Server and Stateroom Host/Hostess) who will be servicing your family's needs for the whole duration of your cruise. You do not need to leave a tip at every meal.  The gratuity can be pre-paid, or you can simply stop by the Guest Services desk in the ship's lobby to arrange for gratuity to be added to your on board bill.  There will be 4 envelopes that you can slip the pre-paid receipts in (unless you choose to leave cash), and you can hand these directly to your servers personally on the last night of the cruise - or sometime in the morning of debarkation.  My kids love handing out the gratuity envelopes, so we make sure to say 'bye' to our 4 main servers and thank them for making our cruise extra special.

Do let us know if you have additional questions that we can help clarify.  Captain Mickey and the gang can't wait to meet you and your shipmates!

    Bon voyage!
