Our family is finally coming to Disneland for the first time. My daughter is going to be 11 (actually on the date we arrive!) and she has highly functioning autism and cannot handle waiting in lines. What options do I have to make this less painful?

Hi, Nadica! Yay! I am so excited that you and your family will be visiting the Disneyland Resort for the first time. Make sure to stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park for your complimentary 1st Visit buttons!

There are lots of ways to minimize attraction wait times at the parks. First, plan on arriving early in the morning and taking advantage of any early admission options that may be available to you. Crowds are typically low and my family can usually ride several attractions with little to no wait first thing in the morning. Next, make efficient use of the Disney FASTPASS Service. This is included with your theme park admission and is so easy to use. You simply insert your park ticket in a FASTPASS distribution machine and you will be issued a reminder ticket with a time when you can return to the attraction and skip most of the queue. Or, for an additional fee, you can use Disney MaxPass (debuting July 19, 2017) and obtain your FASTPASSES quickly and easily using the Disneyland app on your mobile device.

In addition to the above tactics, you can also inquire about Disability Access Service. This service is intended for Guests who cannot tolerate waiting in traditional queues. When you first arrive at the parks, stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park or the Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park to discuss your needs with a Cast Member.

I hope you and your family have a truly magical time at the Disneyland Resort!
