Hello Susan and thanks for bringing such an interesting and important question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
My Mother always used to wisely tell me that
if your feet hurt then it would show on your face and my goodness how true that is! And I think it's especially so when visiting Walt Disney World Resort as you absolutely want to be looking
Happy and definitely
not Grumpy as you traverse the World.
It's such a smart idea to be considering the wellbeing of your feet as they're likely to carry you for approximately some 10 miles per average Disney day! Firstly it may be good to know that in my opinion October and the whole of
Autumn at Walt Disney World Resort are such great times of the yEar for a visit as the summer heat has usually lost its intensity and does make it a little easier when walking outside for the majority of the day.
I would totally recommend packing your most comfortable, well worn-in pairs of shoes, tennis shoes, sneakers, sandals or which ever style of footwear you prefer plus if you're planning on wearing closed shoes or sneakers some cotton rich sports socks. Trust me when I say that a Disney trip is
not the time to be trying out any kind of footwear for the very 1st time!
I often suffer with puffy ankles after a day on my feet and now with special thanks to my dear friend
Disney Parks Moms Panel Brenda who recommended that I wear runners compression socks each night whilst at Walt Disney World Resort - after which each trip
as if by magic the puffiness has subsided by morning!
I truly hope these little bits of information go towards making your upcoming October Disney vacation as comfortable as possible.
